Josie Ireland
Board Member

My name is Josephine Ireland but prefer Josie. I was born in Gawler at the Hutchinson Hospital. My primary school education was in Gawler and my secondary education was at the Elizabeth Girls Technical High School.

After leaving school I worked for a transport company and fuel depot. I was then lucky to win a position at the Hutchinson Hospital and then Gawler Health Service where I worked for 20 years in the Medical Record Departments.

I left the hospital in the late 90s and commenced working for the South Australian Library for a short time until taking up a role at the then Housing Trust SA now know at Housing SA. I completed many roles and on retiring my title was as a Housing Officer.

In my earlier days I was a founding member of the Rotaract Club of Gawler and for the past 12 years I’ve been a member of Sing Australia, Gawler. I had the chance to hold many positions as a member of both Rotaract and the Junior Chamber, Gawler .

Currently I am a member of Sing Australia Gawler and U3A Gawler being a member of the GURUS where we play the ukulele and perform in and around Gawler and I am also in the Ramblers walking group. Once a week I join three friends and we lead the singing at Allity Residential Care , Smithfield

I am a resident of Gawler.

Josie joined the Board of he Gawler Health Foundation in 2016 .
